Upcycled Picture Frames

Happy Friday, fellow crafters!
Here is a tutorial for a super easy re-do on old picture frames! :)
"Birds on a Wire" is what I'm calling this one...
So let's get started!

Here are the supplies you will need:
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • pen
  • black marker
  • old book (i used a dictionary)
  • matte finish Mod Podge
  • old picture frames (thrifted mine for $.50 a piece!)
One: trace the inside of your frame. It's okay if it is a little small; you won't see it from the front anyways. Two: cut out your traced piece and get your pen and ruler ready!
Three: pick a place you want your wire for your birds to sit and draw a line from end to end. Four: freehand (if your good at it and I certainly am not) a bird, or two, or three! :) Five: fill in what you sketched in marker to make it stand out.
*note: a pillar/ pole is optional. I drew one on my larger picture for contrast.*
Six: flip it over and lightly brush on a thin layer of Mod Podge then flip it back over and gently place it inside of your frame.
Seven: lightly brush another thin layer on the backside including the edges of the inside of the frame to seal it in place.
Eight: let it all dry completely and place on the wall. If your frames don't have sawtooth hangers on them already, take advantage of this step and place them where you want it to hang.
 And Voila!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and are inspired to make some of your own! Don't be shy and experiment with textiles, shapes and colors! :)
*FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY PLEASE!*
