Super fun and easy!
This
is a very simple and easy craft! I found all of my supplies at thrift
stores for dirt cheap and they are unused items in great condition! :]
PLUS saves you a ton of cash $$$ This project was inspired by Elsie @ http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/08/song-lyric-wall-art-diy-project.html
SUPPLIES:
- Poly-Sponge brushes
- Vinyl letters
- White acrylic paint
- Newspaper or butcher paper
- Old Scenery Art mats/pictures
SETUP: Lay out your newspaper/ butcher paper. Make sure you have all your supplies ready before you start your project. If needed, wear some old painting clothes (This project is really not that messy).
1: After you think of a catchy phrase, measure with a ruler how far apart you want your words to be and make a faint mark on your piece of art. After you achieve your desired placement, start sticking your letters on!
2: This is the fun part!!! Slap some paint on that baby (but not too much! You don't want overflow-age!) Brush out evenly. NOTE: You WILL have to apply more than one coat!
3: I had to apply a good 2 coats. After your beautiful art has dried, GENTLY peel off your letters.... and take your time!
4: Do some minor touch-ups with a small, flat brush if you have one on hand. This just makes it have cleaner lines and act as band-aids for any wounds you may have created when removing the letters.
FINAL STEP!: Let everything completely dry and if desired, apply a light coat of gloss finish. I personally like the matte finish look! :] Hope you enjoyed this step-by-step tutorial on really easy artwork! Tell all of your friends!
